Category talk:Articles with conflicting quality ratings
Appearance

Purpose
[edit]What is the purpose of these categories? It was decided a long time ago that individual projects would have, or at least be allowed, independent ratings. Unless there has been a change of consensus this looks unnecessary. Even if there has, because it doesn't list them by wikiproject, the list is of limited use.

- @Tom.Reding: What is a conflicting quality rating? I see you adding this category. Thanks for curating. Bluerasberry (talk) 18:00, 21 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Rich Farmbrough and Bluerasberry: WikiProjects are still allowed their own quality scale, see Category:Custom class masks of WikiProject banners (18), but the vast majority (~98%) of WikiProjects with quality assessment use WP:PIQA. The purpose of these categories is to flag WP:PIQA ratings which conflict either with each other or with the rating listed in the {{WikiProject banner shell}}. Conflicting ratings between WP:PIQA & non-WP:PIQA WikiProjects are allowed. ~ Tom.Reding (talk ⋅dgaf) 18:21, 21 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Tom.Reding: Interesting, that makes sense. Where should I go to discuss generally or ask questions about article rating? You linked to multiple aspects of this. Has any place emerged as a central discussion forum for this process? Bluerasberry (talk) 18:36, 21 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Bluerasberry: Template talk:WikiProject banner shell for general questions, and Module talk:WikiProject banner for more technical questions. ~ Tom.Reding (talk ⋅dgaf) 18:43, 21 November 2024 (UTC)
