Published books that due to controversy were prematurely withdrawn from sale or distribution by the publisher or author, or intentionally allowed to fall out of print.

• If a book was eventually republished (e.g., by a different publisher or after changes to the book's contents), it should be in the subcategory Books republished after being withdrawn.
• If a book was cancelled before it was published, it should be in the category Cancelled books.
