Angelo Santo Cappello (born 27 January 2002) is a Belizean professional footballer who plays as a left winger for National League club FC Halifax Town and the Belize national team.[2][3][4][5][6][7]
Club career
[edit]Born in Belize, Cappello moved to the United Kingdom with his family at the age of 11.[8] In August 2020, he signed a professional contract with Premier League club Sheffield United.[9][10]
On 11 March 2022, Cappello joined National League North side Blyth Spartans on loan for the remainder of the 2021–22 season.[11] On 22 July 2022, he signed for National League side FC Halifax Town after he was released by Sheffield United.[12]
International career
[edit]Cappello has represented Belize at youth international level.[13] In November 2018, he received his first call-up to the Belize national team for 2019–20 CONCACAF Nations League qualifying match against Puerto Rico.[14] On 25 March 2021, he made his senior debut for Belize in a 2–0 loss to Haiti.[15]
Personal life
[edit]Cappello was born in Belize to an Italian father and a Belizean mother. He is the nephew of former Belizean footballer Orlando Jiménez.[16]
