Anaconda is an upcoming American action comedy horror film directed by Tom Gormican, written by Gormican and Kevin Etten, and starring Jack Black, Paul Rudd, Selton Mello, Daniela Melchior, Thandiwe Newton, and Steve Zahn. It is the sixth installment in the Anaconda film series, and a reimagining of the original film directed by Luis Llosa and written by Hans Bauer, Jim Cash, and Jack Epps Jr.[1] It was produced by Columbia Pictures and Fully Formed Entertainment and is scheduled to be released in the United States on December 25, 2025.

Production
[edit]On January 24, 2020, it was announced that Columbia Pictures was developing a reboot of the 1997 cult film Anaconda, with Evan Daugherty attached to write the screenplay.[2] In March 2023, Tom Gormican was announced as the director of the film.[3] In August 2024, Jack Black and Paul Rudd were cast in the leading roles, with Tom Gormican confirmed to direct from a screenplay written by Gormican and Kevin Etten.[4] In September, Daniela Melchior joined the cast.[5] In January 2025, Thandiwe Newton, Steve Zahn, Selton Mello, and Ione Skye joined the cast, with principal photography beginning that month in Australia.[6] Filming concluded in late February 2025.[7]
Release
