Alex Willem Roelse (born January 10, 1995) is an American water polo player. Roelse was born in Gorinchem, Netherlands to parents Pieter and Mary Roelse.

High School Career

Roelse attended Winford Stebo in Utrecht, Netherlands, where he played club waterpolo since his school did not have a team.[1]

In 2013, his Senior National Team debut in November 2013, helping the Dutch place second at an international tournament in Gzira, Malta.[2]

College career

Roelse competed for UCLA from 2014 to 2017. He was a member of UCLA's 2014 NCAA Water Polo Championship team.[3][2] At UCLA Roelse majored in business economics.[3]

Professional career

He competed in the men's tournament at the 2016 Summer Olympics.[4]

Roelse played in the 2018 FINA World Cup in Berlin, scored one goal, and the team came in 6th place overall. While playing in the 2018 FINA World League Super Final, he scored five goals.[1]
