Akira Suzuki (director)

Akira Suzuki (すずき あきら, Suzuki Akira), also releasing works under the pseudonym Doitsu Suzuki (鈴木 ドイツ, Suzuki Doitsu),[1] is a Japanese film and anime director/editor and manga author. He was born in Sapporo, Hokkaidō.[1]

As an anime director, Suzuki has worked on AIKa R-16: Virgin Mission, Ranma ½, Kodocha, Maze, Daltanius, Trider G7, and Sailor Suit and Machine Gun. He also directed the anime movie Ranma ½: Ni Hao My Concubine.[2]

He has also edited such films as Eight Hours of Terror, I Am Waiting, Voice Without a Shadow, Sunset, Sunrise, The Glacier Fox, Elephant Story, Virus, The Gate of Youth, The Gate of Youth: Part 2, Nankyoku Monogatari, Haru no Kane, Tokei – Adieu l'hiver, Umi e, See You, Strawberry Road, Deer Friend and Minbo.

As a manga author, Suzuki works with the labels HJ Bunko and MF Bunko J.
