AYR (brand)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

AYR (All Year Round, pronounced “air”)[1] is a digitally-native vertical DTC brand designed for the millennial urban consumer[2] and known for its denim and outerwear.[3][4] It was founded in 2014 by Maggie Winter, Max Bonbrest and Jac Cameron.[5] The COO is Max Bonbrest,[6] and Zandy Reich is its president.[7] Its headquarters and studio are in Nolita.[8]

Its founders have work experience at J. Crew, Theory, Madewell, and H&M. AYR began as a DTC brand incubated within Bonobos before Bonobos was acquired by Walmart.[7] Bonobos maintains a minority stake.[7] Its Series A funding was led by Dutch, LLC, which owns brands including Joie, Equipment, and Current/Elliot.[9]

Its first physical retail store was on Lafayette Street in Soho, New York.[10] Its second store was opened on Abbot Kinney Blvd in Venice, Los Angeles.[7] The brand is carried in Nordstrom and through Shopbop and Stitch Fix.[11]
