The 2024–25 Basketball Bundesliga, known as the easyCredit BBL for sponsorship reasons, is the 59th season of the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL), the top-tier level of professional club basketball in Germany. It runs from 20 September 2024 to 15 June 2025.[1] The season will be played with 17 teams after only one team was promoted from the ProA and no wildcards given out.[2]
Format
[edit]After a double round-robin, the top six teams from the regular season qualify for the playoffs. Teams placed seven to ten will enter into a play-in tournament for the final two seeds of the playoffs.[3]

- Karlsruhe Lions were not allowed to participate after not getting the license. The other teams voted that no relegated team would receive a wildcard.[5]

Results

[edit]Play-in tournament
[edit]Only the top six seeds advance directly to the playoffs, while the next four seeds participate in a play-in tournament. The seventh place team hosts the eighth place team in the double-chance round needing to win one game to advance, with the winner clinching the seventh seed in the playoffs. The ninth place team hosts the tenth place team in the elimination round requiring two wins to advance, with the loser being eliminated from the competition. The loser in the double-chance round hosts the elimination-round game-winner, with the winner clinching the eighth seed and the loser being eliminated. The games will be played on 11 and 13 May 2025.
