The talk page for Tarrare raises questions about the reliability of sources used in the article which are also used in the article for Pig-faced women. Until addressed, this means both articles shouldn't run for TFA. Which is a shame since they both would work for April fools day. Harizotoh9 (talk) 16:06, 19 May 2025 (UTC)

- They're 2010 articles so very old, and there's questions about sourcing and reliability. I think they should be sent to FAR, and the sources scrutinized, which may require them to be heavily re-written. Some of these very old articles have quality issues. Dead link checker is a dead link
[edit]Rather ironically, there's a link to checklinks ([1]) in the instructions in Wikipedia:Today's featured article/requests/pending, which is apparently dead and gives what appears to be an error message in Indonesian. Silent Parade is newly promoted FA - schedule for 109th anniversary?
[edit]Silent Parade is newly promoted FA article. The parade was on 28 July 1917. I just put it in the TFA Pending calendar for the parade's 109th anniversary: 28 July 2026. However, I'm not sure what happens if July 2026 comes, and there is a huge backlog of fresh FAs ... is there a chance the Silent Parade would get bumped out of that slot? The instructions above say that putting an article in the Pending calendar ...does not count as a nomination and does not guarantee selection. If TFA experts think Silent Parade should go through the normal TFAR process for late 2025, maybe that is a better plan. Noleander (talk) 13:43, 24 July 2025 (UTC)
- There's always the chance that there will be another worthy contender for that specific date. When that happens, coordinators do the best they can. In practice, conflicts aren't that common. Nominate it at TFA/R as soon as June is scheduled, which is probably around the first of May give or take a few days. We can't guarantee anything because we don't know what FAC will produce in the next ten months. Wehwalt (talk) 13:53, 24 July 2025 (UTC)

- Maybe you would like to explain the problem. You’ve cut and pasted something, but not made it clear what the issue is. (And if you want Voyager 1 as Today's Featured Article, it needs to first make it to being a featured article; at present it's only classed as a good article.) - SchroCat (talk) 17:51, 30 July 2025 (UTC)
