Hello. Project members are invited to participate in The World Destubathon. We're aiming to destub a lot of articles and also improve longer stale articles. It will be held from Monday June 16 - Sunday July 13. There is $3338 going into it, with $500 the top prize. If you are interested in winning some vouchers to help you buy books for future content by improving articles for your country or any other, or just see it as a good editathon opportunity to see a lot of articles improved for your project, sign up if interested.♦ Dr. Blofeld 10:16, 31 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Canmore no more

[edit]

The demise of the Canmore site earlier this week has an impact on a lot of article references here. There's been work done on migrating those with the old Canmore template to the extended Historic Environment Scotland template, pointing to the relevant trove.scot page (for example, this edit). Fortunately, HES now have redirects from Canmore URLs working, at least for now, so avoiding a midden of dead link reports for articles on Scottish places.

There are also a lot of articles using raw URLs to canmore and, worse, the older canmore.rcahms.gov.uk - worth modernising these whenever there's the opportunity (example). AllyD (talk) 09:19, 28 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

A shame to see Canmore go as it was a great resource for Scotland articles. The new site appears a little more difficult to use. I've seen a few users transposing templates and will make a note myself to use new templates and links. Coldupnorth (talk) 15:10, 5 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
