number of SPI cases

[edit]

Is there anything that tracks the number of open SPI cases? I don't mean things like {{admin dashboard/header}} that just report the current figure - I'm curious about how many are handled/begun per day, etc. -- asilvering (talk) 17:45, 25 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Take a look at the editing history for Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/SPI/Cases. Mz7 bot reports the number of active cases in its edit summary. Sir Sputnik (talk) 18:26, 25 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hm. Unfortunately it considers "closed" cases to be "active". -- asilvering (talk) 18:27, 25 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I have long been curious about this too. On one of these weekends, I’ve been thinking about modifying the Mz7 bot to keep track of some statistics about open cases and post them somewhere. I’d be happy to start by potentially making the edit summary more helpful. Mz7 (talk) 21:36, 27 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Needing help with a sockpuppet investigation

[edit]

Hi, whilst editing football articles I discovered two users who I believe are the same based on their edits. Bembety and Sman099 have both done very similiar edits, adding competition records to footballers - Bembety here: [[1]] and Sman099 here: [[2]] - I would nominate this myself but this is my first time nominating someone as a sockpuppet, so I'm not entirely sure of the procedure. (OK wait I think I've done it) RossEvans19 (talk) 16:11, 28 July 2025 (UTC) Nominated![reply]

Case merge 29/07

[edit]

Please could someone merge Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/CFCFOUREVA/Archive into Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/AttackTheMoonNow/Archive? When I filed the case on CFCFOUREVA, I didn't see the summary in CFCFOUREVA's block log that says that user was a confirmed sock of ATMN. Joseph2302 (talk) 09:22, 29 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
