Request for Expansion: Islamophobia in Bangladesh

[edit]

Hello everyone,

I recently created the article Islamophobia in Bangladesh, which covers incidents, political aspects, and social issues related to Islamophobia in Bangladesh. While I have added some basic information, I believe the article could benefit from additional sources, more context, and perspectives from experienced editors.

If anyone is interested, please feel free to contribute or suggest improvements.

Thank you.

Disturbing pattern

[edit]

I am noticing a disturbing pattern, especially since 5th August last year. It looks like there is a coordinated effort to erase the documentation of pre-1971 history of Bangladesh from different articles. I first noticed this on History of Bangladesh, here. Then there is a similar pattern noticed in List of wars involving Bangladesh, here. There must be more such instances. Notifying: A.Musketeer, Owais Al Qarni, Ahammed Saad, Za-ari-masen, Cerium4B and others. LucrativeOffer (talk) 10:20, 14 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Erasing pre-1971 history will benefit Awami League by emphasizing on 1971, so a political angle can't be ruled out. Can also be an impact of the disinformation campaign in place. Za-ari-masen (talk) 14:53, 14 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion at WP:AN re: speedy deletion of numerous Bangladesh articles created by a banned user

[edit]

See this discussion: Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard#Creations by banned or blocked users -- must they always be speedily deleted per WP:G5?

The following Bangladesh-related articles were started by 1971asif's sockpuppets after 1971asif was blocked. Many appear to be well-written and worth keeping and improving:

There's a discussion as to whether these should be speedily deleted per WP:G5 ("Creations by banned or blocked users, or in violation of general sanctions").

Do these look like worthwhile articles to you?
