Everyone is cordially invited to attend a Wikiphoto scavenger hunt in San Diego County. This should be the 24th Wikipedia meetup in San Diego County.
Wikipedia is one of the leading resources of knowledge for anyone who has access to the internet. Make an impact by helping contribute to the free encyclopedia which anyone can edit, by adding free images to articles that need them. Come join us as we go over the basics of photography, and collaborate in improving content.

Getting there
[edit]Mission Valley Branch library is in a central location located not too far from the beginning of Interstate 15, Interstate 8, and along a San Diego Trolley line which has a station in walking distance.
Goals
[edit]The goal of this event are:
- Utilize photography to contribute new files to Wikimedia Commons to potentially be utilized to in articles related to those photographs in Wikipedia.
- Wifi will be available for those bringing their own devices (required for uploading photographs).
- Update attendees on the current status of the user group application
Proposed itinerary
[edit]12:00PM / 1200 - 12:40PM / 1240: Initial gathering. Receive a list of locations which need a photograph. Separate into teams to take photographs.
12:40PM / 1240 - 4:00 PM /1600: Travel around San Diego County to take photographs.
4:00 PM / 1600 - 5:00 PM / 1700: Final gathering. Upload photographs to Wikimedia Commons.
