Bot removed valid image

[edit]

Not sure why, but it remove an image from an article (see here), commenting “No valid non-free use rationale for this page” when the file in question clearly includes non-free media information and use rationale. Aerrapc they/them, 02:44, 30 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page stalker) The use rationale is for the wrong article; the rationale says it's for Butler Township, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania but the page the bot removed it from is Pass Christian School District. * Pppery * it has begun... 03:04, 30 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, oops; that's embarrassing. Thanks for figuring out my silly mistake. Aerrapc they/them, 03:49, 30 July 2025 (UTC) Aerrapc they/them, 03:49, 30 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for fixing the issue/pointing it out, I’ve added a new image that I believe complies with the guidelines. I’ll try to be more careful next time.EncycloSphere (talk) 21:04, 1 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

AWB EmailAuth fix

[edit]

I hope you can help me test something. Since the rollout of EmailAuth on the English Wikipedia, many of us have had trouble logging in to AWB, with a couple of awkward workarounds suggested. I've coded a fix, but can't test bot mode (which should not be subject to the auth challenge). The challenge happens when your IP address changes.

As you still seem to be running your bot, can you test my fix? The important pre-requisite is to change the IP address you are running from, for example by going through a VPN you have not used before. The bot should be unaffected, but an interactive login should ask you to enter the code sent to your email.

No problem if you can't. I'm reasonably confident in the fix, but it is somewhat context-sensitive. You can get the build here. David Brooks (talk) 17:35, 3 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
