Usage

This template is used to print inline editable linked name of current incumbent of a position (or optionally their political party) along with start time and citation.

To take care of verifiability, this template doesn't print the desired output (property) unless the same is accompanied by a reference in the wikidata.

Parameter

• |1= or |position= (positional): Name of the position whose incumbent is to be printed.
• |2= (optional, positional): If party, prints the political party of the incumbent of the specified |position=.

Description

It uses property position holder (P1308), its qualifier start time (P580) and its reference from the wikidata item linked with the page whose title is same as value of |1= or |position= parameter. At least one reference is a must for this function to work.

For |2=party, it uses the property member of political party (P102) from the wikidata item specified by property position holder (P1308) of specified position.

Example

• {{incumbent|Speaker of the Lok Sabha}} gives: Om Birla (since 19 June 2019) 
• {{incumbent|Speaker of the Lok Sabha|party}} gives: BJP
