Prose and MoS

[edit]

Lead and infobox

[edit]
  • "and shortly after that he stepped back from swimming,", stepped back is quite informal. This could probably replaced with "he announced his break from competitive swimming."
checkY
  • Both quotes in the lead would require sourcing.
checkY

Background

[edit]
  • "The event was held at Paris La Défense Arena, which was converted to a swimming pool for the swimming events.[4]", this statement could be moved to the start of the Heats section.
checkY

Qualification

[edit]
  • No issues.

Heats

[edit]
checkY
  • I feel like Dutchman would be a bit too informal.
checkY

Semifinals

[edit]
  • No issues.

Finals

[edit]
  • "since the to six swimmers finished within 0.29 seconds", omit "to" and add "of each other"
checkY
  • See lead comment regarding Peaty's quote.
checkY

Media

[edit]
  • Image used has proper licensing and is relevant to the article. All good.

Refs

[edit]
  • Earwig's alright.
  • Ref checks: 1, 7, 15, 17, 23. All good.

Misc

[edit]
  • No ongoing edit war, broad enough information, neutral.

MOS-compliant lead: trivial race details removed for clarity and relevance

[edit]

Previously the lede mentioned there were two laps to finish a 100m race and pool is 50m long. I trimmed that filler so to condense the lead in line with MOS:LEDE to highlight notable content. See prior comments already resolving same issue: Talk:Swimming at the 2024 Summer Olympics – Women's 100 metre freestyle#top. Also further explanation here: User:IP49XX/Why MOS Matters.
