Contested deletion
[edit]This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... (Repl.it is a popular company with more than 1 million users that helps people across the globe get access to coding and is a very popular online REPL.) Mosrod (talk) 19:51, 5 January 2019 (UTC)

Creation date
[edit]The page describes replit as being created in 2016, however this blog post describes an "open-source version from 2011". Does the 2016 date refer to the software itself, or the company? --GingerDev (talk) 13:58, 28 April 2022 (UTC)
- I think that the 2016 date refers to the actual company, rather than the software which would have been created before the company's official founding. - Cosmic6811 (talk) 21:04, 29 April 2022 (UTC)
CodeMirror backlash?
[edit]"the code editor was switched to CodeMirror over 2021 - 2022. This decision was met with backlash and criticism from the Replit community.[15]"
I did not get the impression from the citation of any backlash. It may very well have happened, but this is not the source.

- I agree, and this, along with other controversial changes, should be made BFlipDub (talk) 16:26, 26 May 2025 (UTC)
Add information about the Cycles feature
[edit]Currently, the article (incorrectly) states that it is only possible to get boosted or always on by purchasing for the paid features of Replit. Since this has since been changed, the article needs updated. 9pfs (talk) 00:37, 20 October 2022 (UTC)

Written like an advertisement?
[edit]Some of the article, notably the Features section, appear to me to be written in a rather promotional manner. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Advert seems appropriate but I would like to check to make sure before adding it. Fluffycat55 (talk) 04:28, 28 November 2023 (UTC)
- That's because it was written in a promotional manner by User:Hayren Ryzm. -- Cosmic6811 🍁 (T · C) 04:43, 28 November 2023 (UTC)
- They appear to have single handedly written the entire Features section. -- Cosmic6811 🍁 (T · C) 05:06, 28 November 2023 (UTC)
Nominate for deletion
[edit]Like previous users have said, written like an advertisement. Low quality. JoshN07 (talk) 10:02, 4 January 2025 (UTC)
- I kind of agree. Maybe it could just be rewritten. BFlipDub (talk) 16:21, 26 May 2025 (UTC)
Controversies
[edit]As others have said, the current article is mostly promotional content. I think we should add a controversy section, as there have been many controversial changes in Replit's history, and it would be biased not to have a section for it. BFlipDub (talk) 16:25, 26 May 2025 (UTC)
