The result of the move request was: moved. Per consensus, and to Luis Guzmán (footballer, born 1893) for Luis'. – robertsky (talk) 03:27, 25 April 2025 (UTC)
- Francisco Pérez de Guzmán → Francisco Guzmán (footballer)
- José Pérez de Guzmán → José Guzmán (footballer)
- Luis Pérez de Guzmán → Luis Guzmán (Spanish footballer)
– Yes, the legal last name of all 3 of these brothers is "Pérez de Guzmán", but they all played under only the last name "Guzmán". See every single reference on their pages, including their BDFutbol profiles ([here], [here], and [here]), and Real Madrid profiles ([here], and [here], and [here]). The WP:COMMONNAME for all three is definitively "(First name) Guzmán", WP:NATURAL does not apply because they don't ever use their full last name professionally. - Support per nom - except avoid using nationality, so move Luis to Luis Guzmán (footballer, born 1893). GiantSnowman 11:43, 18 April 2025 (UTC)
- Agree, see below. Andrewa (talk) 16:23, 23 April 2025 (UTC)
Oppose - Their father, Manuel Pérez de Guzmán, and their fourth brother, Pedro Pérez de Guzmán, both used their full last name professionally ("Pérez de Guzmán"); it is awkward for members of the same family to have different surnames. Barr Theo (talk) 13:58, 18 April 2025 (UTC)- That's not really relevant to COMMONNAME though. And there's plenty of athletes that use different surnames to other family members.--Ortizesp (talk) 13:31, 21 April 2025 (UTC)
- If that's true, then give me at least two examples, and I might consider changing my vote. Barr Theo (talk) 14:59, 21 April 2025 (UTC)
- Julian de Guzman and Jonathan de Guzmán, Joe O'Cearuill and JJ Gabriel, Gao Sheng (footballer) and Takahiro Ko, Epeli Saukuru and Iosefo Verevou, Rudy Matondo and Rabby Nzingoula, Aleksei Yeryomenko and Alexei Eremenko, every Icelandic player.--Ortizesp (talk) 14:55, 22 April 2025 (UTC)
- Support per nom. Barr Theo (talk) 13:34, 23 April 2025 (UTC)

- Support. Although I prefer Luis Guzmán (footballer, born 1893) as more standard. -- Necrothesp (talk) 08:40, 22 April 2025 (UTC)
- Agree that Luis Guzmán (footballer, born 1893) is preferable. Andrewa (talk) 16:23, 23 April 2025 (UTC)
- Support with the qualification above regarding Luis Pérez de Guzmán, as proposed by Necrothesp and GiantSnowman above. Andrewa (talk) 16:23, 23 April 2025 (UTC)
