Hello. Ronaldo has won 34 trophies and not 32 as mentioned in the article. The uncounted trophies are the FA Community Shield 2008 and the UEFA Super Cup 2016. Although Ronaldo did not play both games the titles must be added as he was part of the team squad, in addition to being collective awards. Enclosed references:

Similarly, Ronaldo was awarded the best player of the 21st century at the Globe Soccer Awards ceremony:

The following sentence (the reference for it is 313) needs a minor grammar fix - "take" instead of "taken":

"Ten Hag later named Ronaldo as captain for a league game against Aston Villa on 6 November, saying that Ronaldo was "an important part of the squad, we are happy with him and now he has to taken even more of the leader role".

Well, in the 2006 world cup, Ronaldo was boo'd for getting Rooney sent off, and including his wink at the bench.

Why Ronaldo list of honour for Super UEFA Cup 2016 deleted? If the reason because Ronaldo not playing in the match how about Messi list of honour include Super Copa Espana which he didnt played also

The following changes are to be done to the International Career section of CR7's Wikipedia page Add on the following :

Ronaldo lead his team to victory during the 2025 UEFA Nations League, scoring 8 goals throughout the tournament making him the leading goalscorer of League A. Crtically he scored a decisive equaliser against Spain in the 61st minute to lead Portugal to penalties, winning a third major trophy for his country Revisitor.Orbis (talk) 14:27, 9 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

UEFA Super Cup 2016

[edit]

Real Madrid lists the player as a winner of the competition, the player has received a winner's medal for it, and the concensus clearly states that "the same [removing the honour] should be done for players who were not called up for domestic Supercup final matches UNLESS there is video or photographic evidence which confirms that they were still awarded a medal. In this case, there is clear photographic evidence, so this honour should not be repeatedly removed without further explanations. Thanks Tkotw12 (talk) 18:26, 9 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

  • The close is quite clear - Consensus is clear that supercups should not be included in a player's trophy count if they were not called up for the match. It does not mention medals. I would suggest you revert your latest edit, which is the third time you have reverted. Black Kite (talk) 19:05, 9 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
    • I recommend reviewing the entire section under 'Results and Subsequent Action' for a comprehensive understanding. The individual who attempted to summarize the discussion's findings in their 'Closing' statement clearly failed to base it on the content or outcomes of the discussion. Even in the Poll itself, some of the "No" voters explicitly stated that they would have voted "Yes" if the player had been awarded a medal. Tkotw12 (talk) 20:37, 9 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
      • Nevertheless, that is what the admin who closed the discussion said, so that's the current consensus. If you want to relitigate it, you will need to start another RfC. Black Kite (talk) 20:49, 9 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
        • That sounds great. Thank you very much for your input. Please feel free to revert my edit then based on the flawed 'Closing' statement. Tkotw12 (talk) 20:52, 9 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
          • OK. The real problem here, I suspect, is that UEFA and other organisations are handing nonsensical numbers of medals out for many competitions. As an example, Tottenham received 50 medals for their Europa League victory, leading to ridiculous situation like Antonín Kinský receiving one, when he not only didn't play in the tournament at all, but couldn't as he'd already played for Slavia Prague in an earlier round... Black Kite (talk) 20:58, 9 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Tkotw12, As Black Kite said above, the consensus result did not mention medals. The discussion is closed and the comments in it are for reference only, it is not the basis for you to draw conclusions that change the original consensus result. Note that there was no objection to the conclusion of the closed admin.
In my opinion, if a player did not play in the competition, the title should not be included regardless of whether they were awarded a medal or not. That is fair, fair to their opponents – who played until the last minute without winning the title – and fair to players in other competitions – competitions where players would not have been awarded medals if they did not play. Annh07 (talk) 21:41, 9 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
          • @Annh07 I couldn't disagree more with you. A player’s contribution isn’t limited to match appearances. They train, support, and prepare alongside teammates, helping elevate the overall performance of the squad. Whether or not they play, they share the pressure, sacrifice, and commitment that lead to a title. A medal rightly honors that contribution. Which is exactly why UEFA and other organizations are handing out so many of them. Football is a team sport, and the collective effort of the entire squad deserves recognition. The consensus was formed by just 11 people over five years ago, and its final argument ignored several important key points. I think it's entirely valid to question its relevance and highlight what was overlooked. Tkotw12 (talk) 22:46, 9 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
What about other players, in other clubs, in other competitions? They also contribute to the team's success as you say but the rules of the competition don't allow them to have medals if they did not play. We're talking about fairness, not the meaning of the medal. Annh07 (talk) 23:34, 9 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
            • A clear and simple solution would be: If a player was officially part of the club's registered squad, received a medal, but did not feature in any matchday squad and therefore made no appearances in the competition, then the honour may be included with a clarifying note, such as: UEFA Europa League: 2024–25 (squad member; did not play). This approach ensures the record remains accurate and does not mislead readers about the player's on-field contribution. Tkotw12 (talk) 02:57, 10 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
              • If we were to do this, I would say it would need to be in a separate section though, not in the main "Honours" section (perhaps we could call it "Other medals" or similar), or otherwise it's (a) going to be confusing, and (b) people or going to keep removing it for the same reasons. Black Kite (talk) 10:15, 10 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
This is still unfair and will certainly be controversial as there are hundreds if not thousands of different competitions, not all of which award medals to players who don't play. Additionally, there is no guarantee that accurate information will be included, which adds to the burden of verification.
If you still want to pursue your idea, feel free to bring it up on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football for community discussion. Annh07 (talk) 14:22, 10 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You keep saying it's unfair but football is more than just the 11 players on the pitch. Every registered squad member participates in training, tactics, and morale-building, sharing the pressure and commitment while contributing to the team's overall success. Their efforts shouldn’t be entirely disregarded simply because they didn’t step onto the field. A vast majority of competitions award medals to all registered squad members, acknowledging their role in the team’s journey. A great example is Jesús Vallejo, who was a registered Real Madrid squad member but not part of the nominated squad for the 2017 FIFA Club World Cup. Nevertheless, he was with his team, received a medal during the ceremony, and celebrated with the trophy in hand alongside his teammates. If a player officially receives a medal, it seems reasonable to record it, provided it can be verified and is done in a way that avoids misleading readers. This can be accomplished by including it alongside other honours, with a notation in brackets, a footnote, or an asterisk to provide clarification. Tkotw12 (talk) 14:52, 10 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Continuing the discussion here will not solve anything as your proposal needs to reach consensus (of the community), so I encourage you to propose your idea at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football, issues that have the potential to affect many articles are often discussed here. In order for a team to play in UEFA Supercup Final is they must won UCL or UEFA Cup. Ronaldo helped Madrid won UCL 2015-2016. He also Madrid top scorer for UCL in that time. So Ronaldo contribution were clear. 158.140.170.32 (talk) 10:03, 10 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
        • Sorry, that's unworkable. For example, a team needs to finish high in their league to qualify for the UCL. So if they win the UCL, should we mention every player that played for them the season before? Black Kite (talk) 10:09, 10 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
UCL is for one season. UEFA Super Cup only one match. If Mbappe helped PSG in 2024 to won Ligue 1 and qualify for UCL 2025. But Mbappe not listed in PSG squad of 2025 so Mbappe dont have UCL 2025 trophy. But Ronaldo were included in official Madrid squad 2016. Though his not played but Ronaldo got medals for 2016 UEFA Supercup. Mbappe isnt included in PSG squad anymore. I think its because youre Messi fans. You dont like if Ronaldo had more UEFA Super Cup than Messi. 158.140.170.113 (talk) 15:03, 10 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
This is certainly not possible because the competitions are separate in terms of titles.
For example, if a team has won the World Cup, we can include the WC title for all players who were in the squad for the finals (32 teams), but we can't include the WC title for players who played in the qualifiers but did not play in the finals, even though they clearly played to help their team qualify for the finals.
For practical example, PSG won Ligue 1 last season to qualify for the 2024–25 Champions League, but we can't include the 2024–25 CL title for PSG players who played in Ligue 1 last season but did not play for PSG in the CL this season. Mbappe was the top scorer in Ligue 1 last season when he was playing for PSG, would you include the 2024–25 CL title for him? Annh07 (talk) 12:09, 10 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Ref 231 paragraph is a long-standing hoax living on this article.

The truth about this topic is:

“Cristiano Ronaldo broke the world record for goals scored in men's international football as he hit his 110th and 111th goals for Portugal in their dramatic 2-1 World Cup qualifying win over the Republic of Ireland.” How many hideous hoaxes like this are going around here?
