Shag Musa Medani (Arabic: شاج موسى مدني; born 17 October 1948) is a Sudanese long-distance runner. He competed in the 10,000 metres and marathon at the 1972 Summer Olympics.[1]
Medani finished 13th in his 10,000 m heat in 29:32.8 minutes, failing to advance to the finals. He started but did not finish the marathon.[2] In 1976, Medani set his marathon personal best of 2:28:18. Four years later, Medani improved upon his 10,000 m best, running 29:17.2.[3]
Medani competed at two subsequent editions of the World Athletics Cross Country Championships, qualifying for the senior races in 1975 and 1977. At the 1975 race, he was the top Sudanese finisher on the team, leading the way to Sudan's 18th-place global finish. He improved his placing in 1977, but that year Sudan did not have enough finishers to score as a team.[4]
