Summary

Description
English: Railroad cut showing Winterset Limestone, Dennis Formation, Upper Bronson Subgroup, Kansas City Group, Missourian Series, Pennsylvanian System (late Carboniferous, ca. 318-299 million years ago) - a small exposure.

The limestone was laid down as part of a cyclothem - the "Middle Limestone," which is created in moderately shallow waters as sea level quickly rises. Thus, a relatively thin layer and very uniform and even.

Raytown, Missouri.
