Born 9 November 1841, Edward Pechey arrived in Sydney in 1858 and moved to Queensland ca. 1869. He acted as assistant surveyor to Henry Haig, Government Surveyor. In the 1860s he helped survey Condamine and Campbell's Camp. He had interests in Highfields Sawmills (ca. 1870) and Crows Nest Sawmill (ca. 1884). He speculated in real estate in Toowoomba and railway real estate. He was MLA for Aubigney from 1873 till 1877. He died in Toowoomba on 28 April 1904. (Description supplied with photograph).
