Summary

Description
English: Bathymetry of the South African coastline. Lighthouses showing position, with circle indicating geographic range (visibility to someone at sea level). Actual lighthouse range is greater due to height of ship bridge above sea level. Colours on the map represent elevation, note this is not always constant steps. The continental shelf is the offshore blue region. Underlying bathymetric data from NOAA 90m resolution digital elevation model. Image processed with QGIS.
