Summary

Description

The short-lived 19th Dynasty king Siptah's KV47 tomb in the Valley of the Kings has a very long passageway. The passageway is about 400 feet just to reach the burial chamber, and, except for the first section of the passageway, the walls were bare unfinished stone….presumably since Siptah had a reign of less than 6 years before he died. Work would have stopped immediately on decorating his tomb after his death since the Egyptians only had 70 days to bury a deceased ruling king. This is a photo of the finished first section of the passageway to Siptah's tomb
