It is a cover unique to RS magazine incl. logo and other cover details beyond the image that RS put on its cover; since it is unique and copyrighted, there is not now, nor will there ever be the future, a replacement. The copyright runs out in a few hundred years, maybe. |

Use of this cover here may or may not benefit the copyright holder: this question is highly POV-ish and probably moot. The question of respect isn't taken in to account, because the image is used for published criticism and education by WP, a recognized fair use principle in American copyright law (17 U.S.C. § 107): "...criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching (including multiple copies for classroom use), scholarship, or research". (There is evidence both that the magazine doubled its circulation with this cover, and that the cover caused retailers to pull it from their stores.) It is almost certain that "it is not used in a manner that is likely to replace the original market role of the original copyrighted material". |
