English: This photo was taken at Mount Melleray Abbey in the Knockmealdown Mountains, Co. Waterford on the day of the consecration of the new Lord Abbot. Tipperary-born Dom Stanislaus Hickey was the sixth Lord Abbot of Mount Melleray, and had been elected on 16 August 1931. His tenure was not to be a long one - he died of pneumonia on 25 February 1933.
A Pathé Newsreel, issued on 2 November 1931, shows a "live" version of this procession, filmed from the same spot as the photo was taken.
