English: Portrait of Mariano Arista, Mexican general and politician (1802-1855), President of the Republic from 1851 to 1853. He can be seen standing, wearing military clothing with insignia and a presidential sash on his chest. Behind him is a group of soldiers and a man leading Arista's horse by the bridle, further down what appears to be Chapultepec Castle on the hill of the same name.
