Food insecurity is on the rise in Lankien, northern Jonglei due to conflict. Farmer Kuay Makuach describes how it has impacted him: "We have some food left from the last harvest, but it is almost finished. It won’t reach up to the next harvest. There are no other options, if the UN comes, maybe they can provide. Otherwise, I’ll have to sell some cattle. We normally plant in two locations at the same time but because of this crisis there is only this only place where we were able to plant. But now it was affected by drought and later on rain came late and everything was flooded, so I did not manage to go to the other place to cultivate that land."
