[edit]This photo of George Bogardus (deceased) and his airplane Little Gee Bee was taken at Deer Park Airport, Long Island, NY circa 1947. The airport no longer exists. Similar images from a series of photos have been published by the Experimental Aviation Association (EAA) in their magazines and have been credited to Owen Billman (deceased). This image (TIF format) was found in the EAA Chapter 105, George Bogardus archive in December 2024. The original image was cropped and the resolution was decreased to minimize copyright infringement. To this author's knowledge, there are no free use images of George Bogardus and his airplane Little Gee Bee available. This image is the primary image used in a Wikipedia article that describes a historic flight made by Bogardus in the airplane from Oregon to Washington, D.C. in 1947. Its location, a known stop during the flight, and to individuals associated with this location, including Jack McRae and the photographer, bolster its provenance.
