DescriptionFort gateway of Omkareshwar Mandhata, Madhya Pradesh 07.jpg
English: The above gateway is found on the fortification walls of the Mandhata island. This gateway leads to the Omkareshwar Siddheshwar temple ruins (Siddhanath).
The gateway illustrates the Hindu fort gateway architecture. Instead of the arched entrances found in Indo-Islamic forts, this has profusely carved and decorated high torana. The gate is flanked by reliefs of Chandi goddess, Durga Mahisasuramardini panel and a Ganesha panel.
After crossing the gateway one sees other ruins of Hindu artwork – these have been collected and moved here from the nearby parts of the island.
