English: An ETC Ion XE 20 lighting control console made by Electronic Theatre Controls, installed in the control booth of an auditorium. The Ion XE series was introduced in 2017, as part of the Eos Family line of lighting control systems, which has been produced since 2006. In this configuration, the console is equipped with two monitors, an additional bank of faders, a keyboard, and a mouse. The console is effectively a standard PC running custom software, and it uses standard PC accessories such as keyboards and mice. The monitor at left shows the "Live Table Patched" display, which shows all channels available for use. Typically, a channel represents a single lighting fixture. The console itself is at center, labeled "Ion Xe", and features 16 faders, four rotary encoders, and a keypad. To its left is an accessory that adds an additional 16 faders. The monitor on the right shows three displays: the "PSD List" (top) and two "Direct Selects" (bottom). The PSD List view shows all of the pre-recorded lighting cues that are stored in the console, although none are currently recorded in this image. The Direct Selects contain groups of channels (lower left) and color presets (lower right).
Also depicted in this image are a 5-pin DMX cable (lower left) and a Clear-Com intercom headset and belt pack (lower right). This configuration represents a typical configuration of recently-installed lighting control systems in mid-sized American auditoriums, such as those found in high schools and community performing arts centers.
