Summary

Description
English: In a normal reaction, the substrate is able to bind to the active site to create the enzyme substrate complex, ultimately catalyzing a reaction. A denatured enzyme changes the shape of the active site, which prevents the substrate from binding to the enzyme active site. The enzyme is unable to perform its function, therefore loss of function.
