| Description |
English: Cowley Street. Built from 1722 for Barton Booth, the actor. Almost all the houses in the street are Grade II* listed. Cowley Street is part of a particularly fine sequence of early-Georgian buildings which runs from St John in the middle of Smith Square up to Barton Street. The building closing the view (actually in Barton Street) was designed to look late C17th (e.g. casement windows) but was in fact designed by Horace Field in 1909 for Walter Runciman M.P. |
