Summary

Description
English: Destruction at Ypres, France, during World War I. The ruins of a church dominate the picture. In front of this a road runs between the rubble. Two cavalrymen and a vehicle travel down the road while three soldiers stand by and watch. More rubble can be seen in the foreground. There were several battles at Ypres so it is difficult for us to ascertain a date for this photograph, although we can be certain that it does not date from before 1916.
