English: Almost 1830 This is about as near as one can get to the recreation of the scene at a railway station of the 1830s. The view is taken from the original 1830 platform of The Liverpool Road terminus of the Liverpool and Manchester Railway, with the replica locomotive 'Planet' and carriages, and the original 1830 warehouse behind. The station only remained in service as a passenger station for about a decade, being superseded when the through line via Victoria Station was constructed.
