English: Aird da Loch Peninsula. In the world of geology the Aird da Loch peninsula is very famous. It contains a rock formation known as the Glencoul Thrust which can be seen in the photo by the greyer Lewisian rock above the red Cambrian strata gently dipping to the loch shore. Below the Cambrian rock is another layer of Lewisian rock.
