Summary

Description

British WW2 era Infantry Tank Official designation:- Infantry Tank Mk.II, A12 Primary Manufacturer:- Vulcan Foundry Built:- 1937 to 1943 Total production:- 2,987 Main Armament (MkIIICS):- QF 3-inch Howitzer This Matilda is probably one that was supplied to the Soviet Union under Lend-Lease arrangements. It is a close-support version fitted with a 76mm Howitzer. The close fitting side panels became easily clogged with snow or mud, which did not help the tanks mobility in the harsh Eastern Front environment. Recently restored in Soviet markings, this example is now on display in Hall 9 of the Patriot Museum Complex. Park Patriot, Kubinka, Moscow Oblast, Russia.
