Summary

Description 330-PS-2338 (81032 AC): Aerial Victory. 136TH Fighter Wing, Japan. Lieutenant Walter M. Schirra, Jr., U.S. Navy pilot on exchange duty with the Fifth Air Force’s 136th Fighter-Bomber Wing, is shown in the cockpit of his U.S. Air Force F-84 “Thunder-jet” after returning from one of the biggest aerial battles of the Korean War. He was credited with probably destroying one and damaging one enemy MiG-15 jet fighters over North Korea. Photograph released November 19, 1951. (5/26/2015).
