Deutsch: Wassersalat (Pistia stratiotes), auch Grüne Wasserrose oder Muschelblume genannt, ist eine stängellose Wasserpflanze mit einer Vielzahl langer Wurzeln. Die Pflanze aus tropischen Gewässern breitet sich sehr schnell aus und ist deshalb in Teilen der Welt verboten. Die Wasseroberfläche abdeckende Pflanze ist die Salvinia minima Vielwurzelige Teichlinse (Spirodela polyrhiza).
Simple English: Water lettuce (Pistia stratiotes), also known as the green water rose or mussel flower, is a stemless water plant with a large number of long roots. The plant from tropical waters spreads very quickly and is therefore banned in parts of the world. The plant covering the water surface is the Salvinia minima multi-rooted pond lentil (Spirodela polyrhiza).
