Burj Azizi (Arabic: برج عزيزي) is a skyscraper to be built as a centrepiece of Sheikh Zayed Road, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It will have 133 floors for various purposes.[4] Burj Azizi could be the world's second tallest building once completed, if it reaches the proposed height of 725 meters, which is 100 meters less than the height of the Burj Khalifa. the current world's tallest building which is located 2 kilometers away from Burj Azizi.[5]
History
[edit]In 2012, Meydan Group announced the Entisar Tower as a 570 m (1,870 ft) tower and 122-story. Groundbreaking occurred in 2016. Construction was halted in 2017 due to Dubai's civic building proposals department issuing a stop-work order due to a payment dispute with the developers, with the ensuing property bust making the projects abandoned.
In 2018, Azizi Developments acquired the long-stalled Entisar Tower. In January 2024, the tower was rebranded, redesigned and renamed as Burj Azizi, and construction restarted on 18 January 2024.[citation needed]
Azizi Developments acquired the Entisar Tower project in 2018 after it had been stalled due to a payment dispute and a downturn in the property market. The original vision for the tower was ambitious, aiming to create a striking addition to Dubai's skyline. However, the challenges faced by the previous developer led to significant delays, prompting Azizi Developments to step in. Recognizing the potential of the site, they rebranded and redesigned the project, renaming it Burj Azizi, to better align with current market demands and buyer preferences.
Construction of the Burj Azizi in Dubai restarted on January 18, 2024. The tower, which is expected to be completed by the end of 2028, will stand as the second tallest building in the world at 725 meters. The project represents a significant investment in the region's skyline and architectural landscape.
The total cost of the Burj Azizi is estimated at AED 5 billion. This ambitious project aims to redefine luxury living and commercial space in Dubai, attracting both residents and tourists to its iconic design and state-of-the-art facilities.
