Akash Singh Rajput (born 25 September 1992) is an Indian actor and social activist best known for his work in television, and web series.[1][2][3] He gained recognition for his roles in Toilet: Ek Prem Katha (2017),[4] Sony TV’s historical drama Porus and web series Mirzapur and Aashram.[5][6][7] His father, Govind Singh Rajput, is an indian politician.[8]

Early life and education

Akash Singh Rajput was born on 25 September 1992 in Madhya Pradesh, India, into a political family. His father, Govind Singh Rajput, is a politician and cabinet minister in Government of Madhya Pradesh.[9][10]

Akash began his career with television, making his debut in the show Karmaphal Daata Shani on Colors TV.

His breakthrough came in 2017 with a supporting role in the Bollywood film Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, where he played a journalist. The same year, he gets wider recognition for his portrayal of Alexander’s general, Hephaestion, in Sony TV’s historical series Porus.[11]

In 2018, he appeared in Amazon Prime’s hit crime thriller Mirzapur as Dara.[12] He later joined Prakash Jha’s web series Aashram as Rocky, a role that became one of his most notable performances. The success of the series led to multiple seasons, with Ashram 4 in production.[13]
